First EVER Naturepath appointment

Wednesday, June 20, 2012

I had no idea what to expect. I put this off for years and years because I did not want to lose my 'regular' doctor. But there does not seem to be any conflict. In our state, she cannot prescribes drugs, so I still have to see my regular doctor for that.

First, when I showed her the Nutrition Tracker charts from Sparkpeople, she was ecstatic!

I also took one day's worth of all those reports you can get which analyze the nutrients in your menu.

I told her how my cravings from a whole liftime have decreased so much by following the Eat for Health Plan by Dr. Fuhrman. She said if I had not done that , that is where she would have started--looking for food sensitivities. We still don't know which foods are actually causing my health problems. We just know I must have been eating things all my life that were hurting me and I didn't know it.

I need to get a blood test today so she can begin suggesting appropriate actions.

This is definitely exciting! Chris

Next time I go, she will have a plan written for me.

Good for you. I just started seeing one about a month ago. I still like seeing my regular doctor for certain things.

Did you ask her about the gas from the diet change? Did she have any ideas?

....elim diet. Everyone's foods will be different so I'm relieved you're going this direction. Can't wait for reports now. ;)

(when I say elim diet ... I don't believe in paying for allergy/food sensitivity tests - but that's my experience. I wasted A LOT of time. I can't afford time at this juncture ... what I wouldn't have known when and if I HAD done the elim diet sooner was what the eventual compilation of foods had in common - histamine!) Anyway, I am VERY HAPPY for you turning this direction.

I really appreciate the time that NDs take with patients. I am grateful that they look for deep-down causality rather that prescribing to alleviate a symptom.
So glad you had a good connection!

Sounds like this is the way to go but you have made
great progress on your own and the doctor can see
that.

I go to a naturepath for minor ailments. My ND helped me pass kidney stones naturally and painlessly. After being misdiagnosed twice by regular doctors! They are so quick to prescribe medication or surgery.....
