It's been over a year since I last blogged and I'm happy to be back on Sparkpeople :) The last time I blogged, I felt sick and had to go to the ER. Though the doctors never came back with a diagnosis of what I had, I had a CT scan and a lumbar puncture because of that. Then, I was urged by my doctor to stop physical activities during my recovering. I am one of those people that once I stop working out, finding the motivation to get back on track is so hard. I was able to maintain my weight though for a couple of months and the worst happened.
See, I traveled back to my home country, Cameroon, for the holidays. It was an amazing trip but I could stay off of the food. I ate till I could eat no more. You see, it's been four years since I had a taste of Cameroonian food and I felt like eating everything that comes my way. The result, I gained about 15Lbs and I didn't get back on track with my workout and food regimen. I started being busy at work and I used that as my excuse for not losing the weight. As the months went by, those extra pounds started weighin in on me but I couldn't find the motivation to workout.
Then it hit me
, I remembered that I NEED TO STOP PLANNING THE START DATE FOR MY WORKOUT AND JUST DO IT. About two weeks ago, I started tracking my food again and about a week ago, I started working out. Trust me, my body is thanking for this. I felt really sore after my first workout and this lasted a couple of days but I pushed through it and now I'm feeling great.
I feel so bad that I let down my Sparkbuddies who have been motivating me to keep pushing. I will do my best to stick through it and not disappoint you again and really NOT DISAPPOINT MYSELF.
My weigh-ins are on Mondays and I'll keep you posted as I lose the weigh:)
