I went for my first run last night in so many months. The last time I tried to run, I came up lame, but today, all is well in ankle land. My muscles, even with all of the exercise I have been doing, are out of shape, but I think I ran close to 2 miles. It was a good 20 minutes of running and about 40 minutes of walking. We even included a big hill to walk up for extra strength building.
When I got home, I felt great. I had been feeling a little lethargic and run down, but afterwards I was quite sore, but had tons more energy. I made myself a healthy dinner, tofu and spinach with rice vinegar and soy sauce wrapped in a low carb tortilla. It was delicious. I also had a BPC cashew milk for some extra calories and protein that I needed, especially after the run.
This morning, I was sore, but nothing a hot shower and a couple tylenol couldn't fix!!
I think I will try to add a run once a week to my schedule, especially if I am feeling sluggish.
