Dreams become reality when we decide to make it happen!

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

I moved in March this year. What a job that was for me! Burned many calories-- packing, sorting, planning what to keep and what to give away. What a big job! I found things I forgot I had. I downsized from a large condo to a ranch condo. Not as much space, so had to give up lots of "stuff" and amazing how much time it took. After moving, a few weeks later, I was really excited and happy about how well things were all going and most of my boxes (160, total I think...lol) had been unpacked, well at least half of them. emoticon With now having two knee replacements my dr. recommended living on one floor to me, several times. I finally got my wish and love my new place. emoticon This dream did become reality!
Well, thinking positive I planned on getting back to the gym in my routine, which I was out of --with all the packing and moving that needed attention, for awhile. So, guess what? You never know what can happen in a split second. I broke two ribs (9 wks. ago) , going up to my loft with a few light objects, when I decided to step down and backed into the post on my left side of my ribs, Ouch!! ER had to see me + look at my ribs, ex-rays, catscan, etc. and told me 8 weeks with no lifting or doing anything strenous + no lifting anything heavy, etc. )-: Well, needless to say, that was not in my plan. emoticon
Well, not much I could do but listen. So, my kids came and helped with a few important things as I needed them done. (-: Have great kids! I told myself it could have been worse and had to accept and plan this time. So, I did things that I could and watched lots of movies from the library and read some good mysteries. emoticon emoticon
Gradually now that my healing is almost back to normal, I have been going through
more boxes and getting things done again. We will be hanging up all my pictures this week, thanks goodness. So, go slow and take your time doing things dear Spark friends!! Making things happen our way when some things interfere can slow us down. Be positive I tell myself and all will get done. Time is a gift and planning on
healthy active days is a must. To succeed and reach goal for lifetime I will do this! emoticonI will make this dream come true to become "healthy for life" by my good choices and positive thinking. One day at a time I am moving toward my goals and know I can do it! emoticon I am happy and excited since today I am back to the gym and can hardly wait. emoticon Decisions and choices are up to us! No one can do it for us. I know I will succeed and be determined to get back on track. Life throws up many punches along the way! Deciding how to handle it is what gets us through things. Be positive and keep smiling. Spark is a wonderful tool to help and can change lives. Thanks for being here dear Spark friends and also thanks for Spark.com
hugs and smiles, Irish Ei emoticon emoticon emoticon

Blooming heck! Glad to heal you are back on the mend and starting the gym again. Although I am doing plenty of exercise I am eating way too much junk food snack during the day which I need to get a handle on (I have put on 10lbs!).
Sounds like you have a lovely new condo as well!

Keep up the great work

So glad you are settling in OK, Ei and also that your knees and ribs are starting to do the right things again.

A positive attitude is very important when facing any adversity and you have that, so all good, girlfriend.

Yes you must be so very happy that you can now go back to the gym.

I love it that you will attain your goals in time, and yes, Sparks rocks!!

I'm so sorry that you fell and broke two ribs. It's amazing that most accidents do happen at home. Luckily, you have a great family and you did not need a surgery.
I also think that Although you're excited to go back to exercise as before, listen to your body and your doctors, and as you've said, take it gently, slower and carefully.

Congratulations on your new home. Only when we move we realize how much stuff we have that we really don't need. I'm glad you enjoy your new home. That is just wonderful.

Of course you'll reach your goals! Of course you can do it! One day at a time.

So nice to see your smiling face and I enjoy your positive thinking and actions.

Best wishes

Mimi

What I like the most about your blog is that you concetrate on being healthy for life, and not about the number on the scale.
Great approach!

I am glad you have finally settled into your new home. I know moving isn't easy. I am sorry to learn you have had all of those extra challenges. It is special to have a family who cares enough to assist as needed. emoticon emoticon

I have a belief that things happen as they are meant and in their own time. It is good to have you back with us. Remaining active is important to healing. However, listen to what your body is telling you and don't push yourself to further injury.

It is good to be seeing more of you again. emoticon
I wish you the best as you continue to pursue Your Goals. emoticon
