Some of you may have seen that I quit taking insulin, per my drs orders. This was a MAJOR accomplishment for me. I was taking 75 units of insulin 3 times a day & dropped to nothing in 1 day. I am still on no insulin, (been over 2 weeks). My blood sugars range from 60-140, but no higher emoticon I am feeling better, but I my scale has quit on me.

I did something I never though I would, I posted my real measurements online! Thats HUGE for me! I have self esteem issues, ok lets tell the truth, I have NO SELF ESTEEM. But, Im working on it. Being Sparkfriends with all of you is bringing me out of my shell and giving me the confidence to post things online.

Im going tomarrow to a bariatric clinic to check out weight loss surgery (gastric bypass). 6 months ago I would have never admitted that to anyone but my closest friends, now its here for everyone to see. Im scared to death, and not completely convinced to have the surgery, but I am willing to listen to what they have to say.

If anyone has any information on this surgery or anything else in my blog, please get ahold of me.

Thank you for you help & continued support you are emoticon!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a very strong indicator of improvement in health. So high fives to you! I was reading some of your blogs and your story on your sparkpage and see that life has sent you some big challenges. Remind yourself that some hurtful things are over now and that moving forward is as good a direction as any, and that choosing to live your life they way you want from this point forward is completely in your grasp.
You've already lost a huge amount of weight and look what a difference that has made. I can relate to the menopause hangups I went through that fun time recently too. It does help to take Black Cohosh for hot flashes, my doc recommended them to try. Keep using your arm cycle (can you use it for your feet while sitting?) Do try to do some walking every day ( i don't care what the amount is right now, just do it and try to increase it whenever is right for you.)
About the bariatric surgery? Only you and your doctors would be able to make that decision. Just keep in mind that you will be committed to doing it, you can't put it back, and really think about how living with ALL the results will be.
For myself, I think I would continue on the path you are on now. It is working for you and can continue to get better as you stick to it. The results will get better as your health improves. No matter what, life keeps changing for everyone, you get to be what you want to be. Think of yourself of being in the enviable position of being able to make choices that please yourself and not being held back or changed by others.
Think of yourself as a flower slowly unfurling your petals as the dark rains have passed by, you will take nourishment from the lessons they have taught, making you a stronger, more resilient person. The essence that is you inside is beautiful and worthy, and the second half to your life is now. You will look back at this time as the beginning stage and will be so proud of yourself for seeing it through. You can look in the mirror right now and say "I am beautiful." In the future you will look back and say "I was one smart cookie" emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
