The long and "shorts" of it.

In an attempt to change it up a bit and get my focus away from scale weight, I'm initiating a new challenge for myself for the next two weeks. I have a pair of rather expensive denim shorts I wore in 2008 that I can now get buttoned, but barely. My goal is to rock those shorts in two weeks. How?

1. High protein with loads of fruits and veggies.
2. Limited alcohol.
3. Mindful eating- quit when I'm full, not when the plate is empty.
4. Lift 2x's a week heavy.
5. Continue running 3x's and biking 3x's a week with at least 1 session of each being interval training.

It's not hard if I stick to the formula.

    Sounds like an awesome plan!
    On the vegetarian thing..I am lacto-ovo vegetarian so I do eat eggs and dairy. I will use eggs (no yolk) and chic peas in a salad so I am loaded up with veggies as well as getting good protein. For cheese I usually use Feta or goats milk cheese as they are natural have pretty good source of protein without all the additives of overly processed cheese.

    Lentils and black beans are great to use with Pasta...I do try to limit pasta if possible but I do LOVE it..so I go with whole wheat..I use the beans just as you would meat in a meat sauce. Or sometimes (and this is my favorite thing to eat) I use either bean, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, virgin olive oil, diced tomatoes (with the juice) seasoned with garlic and pepper as a "sauce" over my pasta with some feta cheese.

    Also tofu is a great thing to use in place of meat, I use it mostly in stir fry meals..I don't add the rice under my stir fry..if I do it is brown rice.

    As a runner of course you need the carbs so you would be good to go.
