Our only son, Robert, is getting married next Saturday so we are a very busy hive of excitement around our house.
The past few weeks have been chaotic - both the couple and her parents live in other cities so we have had all the fun of coordinating the details with the venue etc. We have about 60 interstate guests who start to arrive from Wednesday and so the wedding party really starts with dinner on Friday evening, the wedding on Saturday and then brunch together before everyone heads home on Sunday afternoon.
I feel very blessed to be involved in the preparations - many of my friends who have sons have complained that they were left 'out of the loop' and only expected to turn up on the day and pay up!!!
We are lucky to have been included in shopping for the dresses, invitation design and construction, menu sampling, cake sampling etc so am really looking forward to the day - it is so heart warming to see your child so happy as they plan their life together.
I had a bit of a hiccup last week when my computer died with all the table seating plans, guest lists, the days schedule, menus, guests arrival flight details etc etc all lost (and of course NOT BACKED UP!!!) The young computer nerd in the local repair shop was able to save everything so crisis has been averted - I came straight home and backed everything up!!
Rob has chosen a wonderful future wife, we get along so well and are genuinely excited and happy to welcome her into our family officially on Saturday.
I will be missing for the rest of the week, but I will post pictures next week!!!
