As many of you know it was a crazy stressful week. I took the past three days to regroup my thoughts and just relax. I am ready to take on a fresh and preferably uneventful week.
Friday, I decided I needed a pick me up and took myself shopping. I haven't done that in a while for the simple fact that I knew I needed to jump up a size on the bottom since last summer. It breaks my pride knowing that I am back in the plus size section after shopping in the misses/juniors a year or so ago. I didn't let it get me down and preceded to purchase two outfits that made me feel pretty and a modest night gown to display for my hubby that evening. It's kind of amazing what new clothes will do for you.
My son ended up being gone for the evening so we planned another date night. Remember the cheap little car we bought for my hubby on Tuesday? Well, it is a cute little Honda Del Sol, two seater convertible car. We hopped in and took off for a drive and a stop at a pizza/bar place in a neighboring town. We had a really good time just relaxing and talking over a couple of drinks and some pizza. After we were finished, we popped the top off of the car and took the back way home. The air was cool and the wind blowing through my hair was just what I needed. It was like being teenagers again. We came home after a long drive and I put on my nightie I had bought earlier in the day. For the first time in a long time, I felt sexy. We sat on the couch, talked and tried to watch a movie without success. It was just good to cuddle and talk until late in the evening.
Saturday, we made breakfast together and picked my son up later in the morning. We ran a few errands together and then watched movies as a family. If you have not seen Tyler Perry's Good Deeds, it's a must! Very heart touching movie.
Today was church, followed by having an early dinner with the family. My daughter and her boyfriend bought some nice steaks so we grilled and had an amazing dinner. During dinner clean up, I cleaned and tossed any trace of naughty food out of the refrigerator. During the stress of the week, I ate a few things that should have not been allowed to enter the house. It happened, it's over and I'm ready to face a new week.
Tomorrow, I have a haircut in the afternoon. Tuesday, we will be going to my daughter's college orientation for the day. Friday, we are going on a float trip with my hubby's company. So, partially busy, but hopefully a fairly low key week.
Thank you to all who sent goodies and messages this last week. I tried to get back to everyone possible. Your thoughts were truly appreciated and meant a lot to me. Much love to you all!!
