getting back on the wagon

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Between my 3 business trips in the last month, and a week with a nasty cough and cold, one might say I have fallen off the wagon. But, I let this happen!! (Not the getting sick part....but being derailed from working out by my job....UGH!). I could sit here and get pretty frustrated with myself, but that won't do any good. I can't go back and change the last 3 weeks. All I can do is move forward in the right direction. I know exactly what I need to do.

In other news, my cat was diagnosed a couple of months ago with hyperthyroidism. She's 12 years old and has a small build and has always been very slender. At her highest weight, she was only 9lbs. Well, she got down to under 7lbs! She looked terrible. After taking her meds twice a day, I am happy to report she's gained almost a lb. and her blood test was good! I am shocked at how much this was stressing me out!! Imagine if I had children!

My stepson is here this weekend for Father's Day. He's a grown up now - 24 - and he lives and works about 3 hours away, so we don't see that much of him anymore. But he called my husband and said he wanted to come this weekend so they could play golf together. So that's what they're off doing now. My husband is thrilled!

I need to pull together a plan for the second half of June. My original June goal of 1400 fitness minutes is not realistic now, but I need to set a new goal and develop a plan to get there. I'll be back with that plan tomorrow.

EDIT: Revised June goal - 1100 fitness minutes. That means 725 minutes between now and month end. Off to the gym!!

This summer you'd think working out, and all would be a breeze..NOT!! lol, the kids have me running every which away..but we have started walking the track at the college here locally, in the evenings.. so it hasn't been as bad as it could be..
Glad to hear your kitty is getting better..

You've had a lot going on! Welcome back and I'm glad you aren't beating yourself up; just being sensible. Hope the trek back to the gym didn't make you too sore. :)

Good news about your cat! I hope she continues to feel better!

I am in the same boat err plane err hotel...whatever that you are. I have been traveling for work (added a little vacation) and finally ended up sick. So I am now looking at the wagon with dread. I know that I can get back up to where I'm in the wagon instead of under it but it is depressing to have fallen off.

Glad your meow meow is better.

Was wondering why I hadn't seen you around the Sparkdom. The sooner you get back on the wagon...the easier it will be to undo the damage. (Speaking from experience, here!)
