No More Gall Bladder

Saturday, June 16, 2012

I had surgery on Thursday to remove my gall bladder. For the last two days I have been lazing around on the couch. Yesterday I couldn't even lay down. Every time I tried I had incredible pain from my right side all the way up to my right shoulder. I took a couple of my pain pills (tylenol 3s) to see if that would help. It helped make my face really itchy and my mouth really dry but not so much with the shooting pains. I slept on the couch basically sitting up. By this morning though I was feeling a bit better. Able to actually lay on the couch for about an hour with out any really bad pain.

This all better be worth it! I am not supposed to lift anything over 10lbs for 6 weeks. I don't know how I am going to manage that being that I have an almost 11 month old daughter who weighs about 25lbs. It's a good thing I have an amazing husband! After I heal, I better be able to eat eggs and pizza again! My husband and I have a Pizza Hut date in about 6 weeks lol.

Happy to hear your gall bladder was taken out. A few years ago at the age of 51 my husband almost died on Christmas day his gall bladder was gangrene, plus they could not get him out of the anesthesia. His grandmother died at the age of 51 of a gangrenous gall bladder. It was a total nightmare for all of us that day with my husband!!!! Take care my friend

Here's to a speedy recovery for you! I got my gall bladder out about 5 years ago and life has sure been better since! At first I was still too afraid to eat anything greasy. I remember when I took a TINY bite of bacon then waited for hours, to see if I was going to get an attack. On me they did about 4 little holes and poked around through the holes to do the surgery so quick recover and barely any scars. The only bad thing is that they went thru my belly button on one of them. I realize it was to minimize the scarring but I NEVER wanted to have my navel chakra punctured. But ah well at least I can eat in peace now. It has been terrible for my weight though lol
