I know it's hard when you want to be pleasing to your husband. You can do this.

Hang in there friend! One pound when you know the source is definitely a normal part of this journey. Those fast food places are so hard to avoid and even harder to make good choices when you are there. But you know what caused it and you are already moving on in victory because you have the right attitude! You will overcome! emoticon

Don't fret over 1 pound, I'm sure you will be down in a few days, sometimes fluid retention can have an effect on our weight, I know if I am retaining fluid I will be up a few pounds, I've learned that with my healthy eating it is likely fluid retention when my weight is up as a few days later when the fluid is gone my weight is right down. Perhaps you are retaining fluid from the extra sodium that is in the food. Fast food is noted for adding far too much sodium to their food, I would be surprised if your 1 pound weight gain wasn't from the excessive sodium in the food you consumed. And speaking of that, I'm concerned for you that your husband insists that you eat out rather than eat at home, I will be praying about this, can I make some suggestions, I like EDITOR suggestions, perhaps you can change your menus and add a variety of foods perhaps he hasn't tried, maybe with that and you encouraging him to eat at home and eat healthier he will be more ready to make a change. Here's hoping.. Anyway, overall you are doing a great job in your quest for healthy living...Keep up the great work...My prayers are with you! HUGS... emoticon emoticon

My biggest concern is not the pound gained or the constant fast food. It's your husband saying you don't need to lose any more weight. It concerns me that it appears you're allowing him to define you. He wants to eat fast food, so you not only go with him, but give in to the unhealthy foods. He says you don't need to lose anymore and even though part of you says you still need/want to, you continue to give in to him and find that his influence is wiping out your progress. Is there a chance he's jealous or intimidated by your weight loss? Could he be thinking you'll leave him in the dust if you meet your goals? Is he so against change that he will slow your changing so he doesn't feel pressured to do the same? No need to answer these questions to us - answer them in yourself and recommit to your needs. As I've said before, why can't he eat out while you eat at home? Or he can pick it up and bring it home so you can eat together. There are so many better options than to always sell yourself to your husband's wants. (I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I've seen so many women be totally submissive to their husband's wants and lose all sense of who they are and what their needs are, without even realizing it's happening.)

As for changing your mind about what to eat when you went out, if someone hands you a menu, hand it back and give your pre-planned order. Your husband can sit there with his mouth watering at the choices, but the menu is made to be so tempting that even the healthiest eater wants to have something else. It rarely ends well. Or you can eat at home then have only a small portion of something you want (a side, a drink, or a few bites from your husband's dish) without feeling deprived.

It's OK it go up a pound, just keep moving forward. If salads are burning you out, would you consider broth soup with veggies? What about grilled veggies like onions, zuccini, tomato? Restaurants tempt my family: more relaxing when somebody else does the clean up, especially. The FlyLady perspective of clean up as you go helps me be less overwhelmed after dinner is set out. emoticon

Yes! It is worth fighting for! One pound up doesn't mean "game over". We've all had those weeks! But it does mean that you can come out with your gloves on, ready to fight with wisdom to lose those last 10ish pounds! The sodium and fat content in fast foods always gets me too. Maybe try some new types of salads? Just wondering. But there are so many ways that you can tackle this without eating salads. You go girl!

Don't let a one pound gain drive you crazy, especially when you know it's probably can be attributed to sodium!

I've become very aware of how much my salt intake affects my weight. I've decided to accept that eating out means higher sodium levels and I'm going to see it on the scale for a while. I ate out with a family member yesterday and I knew the salt in the food would show up on the scale for my weigh in today. I got lucky - no change from last week. I figure that means I actually lost this week - you may have, too!

Keep positive!

I noted all week your fast food. A pound gain is not the end of the world, and you will rise above this. You need to utilize your canning of veggies and make hubby enjoy more a home cooked meal. My DH hates to go out to eat. I do feel deprived at times, but it is the highest compliment at our age when DH only wants our home cooked meals.
