Hi..we got home from vegas last night but I was too tired to blog..jetlag I guess!! The trip was just wonderful...lots of fun and good times.
The highlight was the helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. We did so many different things..lots of shopping, drinking and eating (glad to get home and see the summer challenge doesn't start until next Saturday instead of tomorrow so I won't change my weight yet as I gained a few pounds and will try to get back to my ticker weight before then...I know most of the weight is water retention from the salty food as my feet and ankles are really swollen..lots of walking too)
When we checked in I told the hotel it was our 35th Wedding Anniversary and they gave us an upgrade to a suite for the same price..the room was beautiful.. the bathroom was bigger than our bedroom at home...with double vanities, a walk-in shower with a bench and a huge oval freestanding tub...and big french doors. The rest of the room was great too with a king bed, big flat screen tv , sitting area and desk. The windows overlooked the strip to the south and we could see the view from the bed. We were on the 23rd floor.
The hotel had 2 pools and we went swimming a couple times..the temps were 100+ all 5 days :) We went to the Beatles show in the mall attached to the hotel and it was great.
We took in a couple of buffets, had some of the breakfasts outside in Paris (next door to Planet Hollywood) had a few meals in the mall shops and used lots of coupons for discounts. We did a bit of souvenier shopping and got a few t-shirts and magnets for the kids and us and some caps for hubby. We found lots of drink deals, too..I think I had too many margaritas to count....
We went through almost all the major hotels and watched the free shows at most of them..took in the car museum at the Imperial Palace..hubby's fav...went up in the Stratosphere and Paris tower, watched the overhead show on Freemont Street..we got a bus pass to ride for one price...
We met lots of people from all over the place, which is always fun to talk to new people..we met a couple from California, shared a limo with a Russian couple, shared the helicopter with a couple from England (and 2 guys from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada), shared another limo with a couple from Austrailia, people from Florida..on and on not to mention the ones from Veags..hubby said everyone from Vegas is a tour guide...haha!
The flights were fun too, although flying into Denver was really rough both ways, the attendants said it is always really rough there...so it was fun to see Denver's airport. We also could see the huge fire in Colorado from the plane.
Well..I'll try and post some pics at the end..if it doesn't work I'll try againg tomorrow...
Thanks for dropping by..and keep on Sparkin'
While we were gone it was really cool and rainy here so I weede through my garden today and did some laundry...also had the rider here for dinner and a guy came to sign more stuff for the pipe line (will start in August)
