Messed up!! Royally

Saturday, June 16, 2012

I just spent a couple days away visiting family, my first 2 days went well and last day I fell apart making excuses like ohhhh no problem you can start again tomorrow. I have had to many tomorrows!!!!!!!! I feel terrible and I am really beating myself up because I started SP just a week ago and was feeling so very strong!
I am going to pick myself up tomorrow morning and begin again, go for a walk and enjoy the fact that I will probably fail numerous times till I reach my goal.
And I can only say this due to the blogs left from others to continue on and stay the course even when you have fallen. Right now though it feels like I fell from MT Everest.

We are human and we slip up; then we get back up and at our resolve. I think as healthcare professionals, we are so hard on ourselves because we are high acheivers and want to do everything just right. But you will have a day when you feel great about your progress, your journey here with
SP. Don't forget to be as kind to yourself on that day as your were hard on yourself the day you slipped up! Hang in there and best of luck to you! emoticon

Jewelle217....thank you for helping me put things into small perspectives and to take baby steps. I guess I think I should be perfect at all times ...if not I am really hard on myself. But your encouragement makes sense and is so helpful for me to take focus on. Thank You so much !! emoticon emoticon

Don't look at it like Mt. Everest...take babysteps! Today, and for the week, focus on one goal, just one tiny goal. Next Sunday add a second small goal to focus on. Every week those babysteps will take you far!

You are strong and you can do it!

Chalk it up to a learning experience. Now you can look back and see where things started to go hay wire. You can now better prepare for family situations/parties/bbq's etc. emoticon

Just start again and move on. You can't change the past and there is no need to worry about the future and you can't deal with that now either.
