First day went pretty well...

They said I didn't eat enough. I didn't get all my water either. This is going to be harder then I thought :-). It will take me time to adjust things. I sat down and started to write a new menu and shopping guide. That also will take some time. We have some things we like to eat that can be made in a healthier way so that is where I'm starting. Whole Grain products, more veggies, fruits for treats/snacks. The drinking water looks like it will be a challenge and eating enough "good" food. I use to get my calories from junk. So here I am not eating enough "real" food for the day. I found myself hungry in the middle of the night so I guess they were right. I didn't eat enough the first day. (sigh) Taking it one day at a time...I will not give up.

    Water was never a problem for me, from the time that I joined SparkPeople! I love water! However, trying to meet all of the suggested intakes, as far as all of the suggested nutrition intakes, are. If I meet the carb one, then my calorie one isn't in the recommended range, etc. I, like you and your family, prefer certain foods (have my faves); especially, compared to the meals that SparkPeople suggest, or have on their menu. I do make sure that what I eat is healthy; however, it is the figuring out the combination, for the meals, to make it meet the goals of the different recommended intakes, for each meal, and the recommended totals, for the day. I believe in the, as long as it is healthy, that you can eat whatever foods that you want; but you should eat in moderation, portion control, and within the recommended calorie range, etc. So, don't despair; you are, definitely, not alone; in meeting the intake recommendations! However, we can do it; I'm sure! I see that you are already off to a good start!
