I got a late start today. I had an omelette with cheese & rice with black beans inside for brunch. I've eaten one like that before, its a great way to clean out leftovers :)
Came back up (violently) about 10 minutes later. Not fun. I think it was the rice. I used Sazon Con Azafran to make the yellow rice. I did not realize it had MSG. I will have to add it to the "do not buy" list.
We have been really eating good, avoiding high sodium , no MSG foods and trying to buy things with ingredients we actually can pronounce and know what it is LOL And avoiding unbleached & processed flours.
Once you start eating like that "bad" food really makes you feel crappy.
My daughter made a boxed soft taco dinner the other night with ground chicken. I didn't feel like cooking so I ate a couple and man I felt crappy! I only had a couple but I felt over stuffed and yucky. I read the box after (yeah should always read it first!), and the amount of sodium was crazy.
I should have known better, it came out of a box and my daughter wanted to eat it. She has not jumped on the healthy band wagon. She's pretty stuck because me, dad and brother are all eating healthy and we do the shopping. The taco's were purchased by her.
It was so funny about a week ago me and the boy were out doing stuff and had to wait for a prescription to be filled. We were out longer then anticipated and were both starving. A Firehouse Subs was in walking distance so we went to get something to eat. Poor guy had to go digging for the nutritional menu and try to answer our questions about the food. Steak & cheese was not too bad nutrition wise. Skipped the "side" of cookies or chips. Eating out has totally changed for us.
Eating out is just not as fun as it used to be when you look at the calories and fat.
Its amazing how much easier it is to stick to your calories when you see actual results.
Scale weight right now, no clue, but clothing, wow. My pants are still getting loser, and looking better and better. That's another trap people fall into, sizes. I am wearing 12's & 10's. Depends on the brand & material of the clothing. Like the scale it can make you feel like your not doing well if its not a certain number.
I am only watching calories and walking. Nothing fancy but getting great results. But it takes time and consistency, things I never gave myself in the past. If my results were not good right away, I gave up.
I am really excited I did not give up and am on the right path to helping my body be healthy. The healthy foods I eat, and the consistent exercise is shrinking my body, its just so annoying that I waited this long to figure it out!!
