A new spin on TGIF

Friday, June 15, 2012

Trying something new to cultivate gratitude and joy. Taking a page out of my current fave author/blogger/researcher/stor
yteller, Brene Brown, and writing about Trust, Gratitude, Inspiration, and Faith.

Trust: Today I'm trusting that I'm on the right path to health and will meet my goals. I've had less mental clarity and more emotional vulnerability this week. To top it off, the Shame Gremlins are replaying "not good enough" messages the past couple of days. Self-doubt's creeping in the most random moments, so for today I'm going to trust I'm doing all the right things.

Gratitude: Today I'm grateful for honest-to-goodness face-to-face connection, an awesome playlist, and vacation in 4 weeks 6 days!

Inspiration: I totally found this picture inspiring. Thanks Positively Present for another wonderful stroke of insight.

Faith: Ahh, faith. I keep thinking this means God which doesn't wholly work for. For today, I'm going to believe in Brene's definition of spirituality - "Spirituality is recognizing and celebrating that we are all inextricably connected to each other by a power greater than all of us, and that our connection to that power and to one another is grounded in love and compassion".
