I run because I am strong
I run because I like how my calves look
I run because I want slimmer thighs
I run because I can
I run because I couldn't
I run because now my older son runs track and cross country
I run because now my husband runs also
I run because I like wearing out my running shoes
I run because I like knowing SmartWool socks really are better
I run because I'm part of my triathlon team

I run because I dared to run past a few houses
I run because I ran to the half mile to the school and didn't die
I run because my face gets salt-crusted
I run because I enjoy the distance
I run because it inspires others
I run because it changes my body
I run because I like seeing other runners and feeling like I'm one of them
I run because people don't expect it of me
I run because I've trained for it
I run because it gets me in the woods regularly

I run because running in Florence, Italy at 6:30 in the morning was a life moment
