For a long time now I have been content to just sit around and do nothing. Well, as you can guess, that attitude has gotten me nothing good. I gained back the 25 lbs that I had lost previously, I stopped exercising and my body and heavy breathing are definitely showing it, and I generally just feel tired and "wimpy" all of the time. I guess my upcoming vacation (in about a month) and the fact that I am going to start college again in August have made me take a good look at myself and my bad habits.
I joined WeightWatchers last week and weighed in at only 0.2 lbs short of my all-time heaviest weight. Over the course of the first week, I started drinking more water once again and adding fruits and veggies to my meals. I prepared all of my meals, only eating out once to celebrate a friend's birthday. My hard work during the first week paid off with a loss of 3.6 lbs! I purchased a pedometer yesterday and am wearing it for the first time today. I've taken a walk around my office parking lot this morning while on a break and I even took the stairs both up and down. It's small changes like these that helped me start losing weight last time. This time I really hope to get up the momentum and work toward my goal of losing about 100 lbs. I've decided that instead of just watching that "horse" called Life, I am going to get back on it and "ride"!
