I have been working hard toward my mileage goal this month. June is going well for me. It's going to be close to see if I make the 200 mile goal I made. Here are this weeks totals: (Fri. 6/8- Thurs. 6/14) Bike-36.16, walk-2.6, run-22.6=61.36. June totals=95.36. I have also done 285 mins. of Yoga.
BUT, my housework and yard work are WAY behind. Balancing is hard for me. My priorities change on a daily basis, making it difficult to sort it all out in my head. I rationalize exercise as being at the top of the list, but when a big job is facing me, I get overwhelmed and hit the trails instead. Exercise can be a source of procrastination for me. Whoa, a complete 360 from 3-4 years ago. Then, I used everything else I needed to do to procrastinate against exercising. Boy, I have come a long way!!
I was able to put on a nice graduation party, which was a lot of work and a bit of anxiety. The weather right now is beautiful. I like to take 15 min. breaks and walk. It ends up being about a half of a mile. The miles add up and my mood lifts!
I very much need to track my nutrition daily. Although I am happy with myself for eating lots of fresh seasonal produce, I have also been reaching for "fun" food. The kids are out of school and we have had a party for graduation with lots of leftovers. I know they aren't unhealthy choices, yet, too much of a good thing can lead to an angry scale. I want my scale to be happy next week!!!
Let's here it for a HAPPY scale next week!!
The following picture reminds me of the trail run yesterday. Part of it is in a meadow in Vermont overlooking Camels Hump. I was in awe of the beauty. I must have seen every butterfly native to Vermont and heard beautiful meadow larks singing. I am so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place!
