Surgeon visit

Friday, June 15, 2012

emoticon Well ! I had Pt yesterday & my ROM didn't go well at all. I'm ranging between 95 - 108. I have fluctuated a lot since the knee replacement/ROM. I also have been having a lot of problems as well w/pain under the knee cap & swelling.

emoticonI went to see my surgeon right after Pt & he explained, because that since it was my 3-4 surgery I had to deal w/ what I had. That's the problem w/having so many surgeries on 1 part of the body ,it take a beating. There is nothing more he can do. If he had done the Knee Replacement 1st, I would be back to normal.

I know that pain behind the knee -- it really hurts!!! I always thought it would hurt more where my incision was (I had a TKR) but it never was. Well you've heard the dr feelings now it's up to you what you want to do. I'd say (don't you love how some peoplejust burst into your life and tell you what you should do/? Nahhh, not me!! :)) )
Anyway -- I'd give yourself some time and heal....(and that would be in the months, not weeks) and decide what is best for you b/c that's the bottom line -- you want your life to be more Maryann said 'we'll keep you in our prayers and do keep us posted!)

I feel so bad for you. Having pain and swelling in your knee is not something that you can easily live with considering how much we use our legs every day! It's so frustrating to have a doctor tell you that there's nothing more they can do . . . . and then to tell you that if the tkr was done first, you'd be fine.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that with continued p/t and exercise, your knee will heal and you'll be 100%. Don't give up -- miracles do happen!
