My thoughts

Friday, June 15, 2012

I read a featured blog this morning. I am sure some of you did too. It was interesting to me because the sparker mention what she will expect or feel when she has met her healthy weight loss goal. She is not looking for a number on the scale, I agree (I do use the scale for measuring purposes). She goes on saying what will help her realize when she done. Meaning when her weight is right for her, I agree (however, I will be sure that feeling with match with the appropriate BMI and healthy weight range for my height). In fact, I agreed on most of her statements that will help allow her to feel done. A few not so much.

For instance: I know I am an emotional eater so forever I will have to pay attention to what I eat and why not just until I reach my healthy weight range.

As for me, I think even when I am at my goal weight I will continue to be conscious of measuring my food, even if just my eye-balling it. Images of golf balls, index cards, pair of dice and the palm of my hand are forever ingrain in my brain.

Again for me, I will have to think and plan ahead for meals. It may feel like I am not thinking or planning because purchasing healthy foods is now a habit of mine. Making sure the veggies and fruit dominate the plate, etc...

But that is just me because this is my healthy journey for life not a destination to a particular number on the scale.

I can hardly weight to reach my goal and enter maintenance stage. But my fitness activities and nutrition habits will not stop. They will adjust as will I.

I enjoy these feature blogs...they are food for thought!

Have a great day.

As I have long periods of time on plateaus I don't think I will have a problem with maintenance! emoticon It is getting this last 5-6 kilograms off that I am grappling with! emoticon

Certainly agree that the scale is just a number and it is more to do with the blood studies.

Once my fasting bloods sugar levels are back to normal I will stop and commence maintenance!

The thought of it being for forever is daunting, but then so again is the thought of walking around with all that extra weight.

Thanks for being and inspiration, Anne!

Stick to that plan! I reached my goal weight last year. Maintenance was very difficult for me and now I'm back up 15 pounds. I got rid of all of my 'fat' clothes. Finding something that fits everyday is not easy.

That's it! I'm on my way down again!!

We can do this!!
