Fitbit Day 1

Thursday, June 14, 2012

I got my fitbit tracker last night from Amazon when I got home from work. This is my new little friend that is going to get me more active! I love it because the flower grows as you are more active and withers if you are sitting still for too long. The perfect motivation for me.

But there is something even better than that. It has a sleep tracker. You can put it into this mode where it tracks your activity during sleep. From this it extrapolates how much *actual* sleep you get. Let me just tell you, I believe it. It explains why I wake up so tired!

I need to start changing the way I do things if I plan on getting better sleep! emoticon

Ok, off to see how this thing works during the day!

    Welcome to our team!
This device is the MOST awesome device I currently own! It motivates me to get in as many steps on a daily basis. The sleep tracker proves that fact that I am a heavy sleeper (LOL)!
I am completely addicted to this device and it is at my hips everywhere I go (except the shower!)

Very cool. I haven't used the fitbit sleep tracker yet and I've had mine for the while I worry about forgetting to set the stopwatch or stopping the stopwatch. There is a FitBit group her ein Sparkpeople and I am on FitBit (http://www.fitbit.com/user/22FR9Y) if you want to friend me.

I absolutely LOVE my fitbit!!! Since I can see my activity level, I feel more motivated to exercise. With the weekly reports, I can see my progress. I haven't went a day without it since I got it back in the beginning of May.

I've had the Fitbit tracker for a few months now, I love it. And they have great customer service. The beginning of my vacation a few weeks ago, the tracker stopped working on me completely. We were at my parents house, so I downloaded everything to their computer and still couldn't get it to work. Even tried a few things suggested in the forums. So I contacted their customer service and they emailed me back with a few things to try. I thought the one suggestion fixed it because it started working again, but then was dead again the next morning. So, I emailed them back and let them know, so they mailed me a new one, free of charge! With a new base and wrist band too! I am very impressed that they replaced it so quickly and at no cost for me. I was going to be upset if I spent all that money I saved up for one to then have it quit on me after a couple months. Especially since I didn't do anything to cause it to stop working, like put it through the wash or something. The new one came yesterday and I was so happy to have one again. It was such a disappointment to not have it during my vacation as we tend to do TONS of walking when we travel and I really wanted to know how much we were actually getting in. And Monday, DH, my sons, and I went for about a 9 mile walk along one of those rails-to-trails. I kept saying to DH that I wish I had my new Fitbit because I really wanted to know my steps and the true distance walked. Oh well, still got the exercise whether it was tracked officially or not.

My favorite feature is the "awards" you get on the website for accomplishments (like # of steps, miles, etc). It really motivates me to do more. I even ran up and down the stairs one evening at home as I wanted to get the next stairs award. Haha, wouldn't have done that without the Fitbit.

We should link up on the Fitbit website. I don't know anyone else with one, so I don't have any "friends" on there.
