Still working things out!

Well I am back but I don't know for how long. I am still trying to work out some huge computer problems as well as problems with work and with being POA for my mom.

For the last three days now my computer keeps shutting down. So I ran Norton's and couldn't find anything wrong so I ran it again and the computer crashed.

So as I turn the computer on again I immediately ran Norton's again and it still didn't find anything so I don't know what is causing my computer to turn itself off.

It did it five time yesterday and five time today.

I am keeping a log to see if I can find where and when It is shutting down. Three times it shut down when I was using Firefox and two time while on Sparks in Firefox. Today I tried IE and it shut down on me. Then a message appeared saying my computer is at risk so I ran Nortons and it found one item. Nothing major.

So I decided to uninstall IE9 and re-install IE8 and now it seems to be OK. I am not in IE right now.

I also found Adware. win/32/opencandy on my computer and I tried to remove it and computer crashed. Then I tried to quarantine it and same thing happen.

So then I got the smart idea to do a restore on my computer I restored it back to yesterday before I updated my windows. It seems that the adware is gone or maybe it is hidden until I open up a program or thread.

We shall wait and see.

Now as for work I am still having problems. It seems that the other day we were short $20.86 on my register. I know it wasn't me or Amy cause Amy has been there for 5 years and has never had this problem and I haven't since Brenda start one month ago.

So both of us thinks and know for sure that it is Brenda not giving out the correct cash.

We shall see when I go in on Saturday cause I was on till 1 and she took over when I left at four. So if we are short then we will know it is Brenda. There was one other person using till 1 while I was on break and this is the first time in months that we are working together so I know it won't be her.

They cut my hours back again and have given Brenda more hours. Why I don't know when this person is totally useless at what she does. She doesn't clean, she doesn't make sure that the garbage is taken out at night and she won't tidy up the shelves. So when I come in in the mornings I have to do her work and still get my morning work done in between customers.

They will soon see how lazy she is and things will change. I have mention this to the manager that I had to re do anything myself. She is going to keep an eye on her.

Now as for mom. The bank stupidly froze mom's account and I can't pay any of her bills on line or at the instant teller. Even when I go right up to the teller to get it done I am not allowed. I have POA for crying out load. I have shown then the papers and everything but they say I now have to go to mom's bank to get her banking done which is 45 minutes one way from me and another 45 minutes to get home if there is no traffic.

Or I can bring mom in and get her to do her banking. She will have to get a new pin number for her card so that she can use it again. That is so frustrating for me but more so for mom.

It is very difficult to get her from her wheelchair to the car and from the car to the wheel chair.

I am hoping that I can get the wheel chair van and driver to take mom to her bank and we will follow behind them. That way then can wheel mom right into the van without lifting her out of her chair.

I am still fighting with telus to cancel mom's phone. I have to go to mom's bank and cancel the payments from that end. Mom' hasn't used her phone in three months and they are still charging her. Even when they told me mom's account was closed.

So I am hoping and praying that this will end soon and mom can get the money back into her account.

Well I am signing off now time for bed. Time to regroup so that I can fight another day.

Thanks Krys I will try Spybot, have to figure out which one to down load for my Windows7 program. There are too many to choose from.

    You have a lot going on! I am going to try to be a little more active, however it will be challenging during the summer ~ I miss my spfriends! Email me when you have a chance to go through website stuff. I know what you need to do, so when ever you can get to it, you have an awful lot to think about and look after now! emoticon

    You are in my thoughts and prayers that everything is soon back on an even keel for you. Can't believe how the people at the bank are behaving after you have done what you were supposed to. Also hope that they stop letting other people use the same drawer as you while you are responsible for it.

    I have used Spybot, too, Sandra, when my brother helped me find a problem some time back, and it was great. I hope it works for you.

I hate that someone else is using your drawer. Where I work at the supermarket, NOBODY can use another's drawer unless it's an extreme circumstance under the authority of management, and nearly never happens. It's impossible to blame someone for a drawer that is "off" unless only THEY have been in the till. I was falsely accused of stealing at a supermarket I worked at 27 years ago, and I'll never forget it. I left for honest reasons of my own, unaware that the thief used my leaving to quit stealing, leaving everyone to assume it was me. Then, when I would go into the store, it was cold as ice the way they treated me. Much later, the thief was caught, and I was exonerated, but it was awful knowing they thought I had stolen from the store. emoticon Be very, very careful, Sandra. You don't need that nightmare! emoticon

That is RIDICULOUS about the bank! I hope you go in there and create a huge STINK! That is so inhumane to do to the elderly when they have jumped through all the legal hoopla to get things in order so that others can help take care of their business. It's just WRONG, and I hope it gets resolved. Demand that they treat her fairly! Grrr! emoticon

    So sorry to hear you are getting this hassle at work :(( I hope they realize soon about Brenda -surely if she has signed in on your till they can tell that is where the money came short??
That is frustrating with your computer, I wonder if you got that virus that was put in with Windows Update. Its called the Flame and wasn't detected by anti virus. They said it was one of the best codes ever written. I wish these geniuses would spend their time doing good instead of causing problems. Glad the restoration point solved it.
That is terrible about your Mom's banking situation. Keep fighting that bank! If they won't open the account up, can you take eveything out and transfer things to a different bank? I wouldn't want to stay with a bank that has no compassion for your Mom's situation.

    Sorry about the PC problems. :( I hate when things like that happen.
I have to go to dad's bank to do his banking. Have they had you sign papers at her bank? I had to and have to sign the checks as POA. I hope you get it straightened out soon. I can't figure out why they froze it though, you may want to ask about that at the bank. HUGS!

    Norton is a joke-all the IT guys my husband worked with said that! Try AVAST- you can download it for free online, then uninstall Norton after that. We have had great success with AVAST. Be cautious about Spybot! Also check online what people are saying about anything before you download it. Sometimes what you download can be deemed a virus in itself!
Hope your problems with your Mom's accounts can be solved soon. Nothing worse that bank problems and phone problems! Good luck! emoticon
