Aroma...

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Well - first - might as well get this out of the way... today was a lousy day in my choices for snacking... nuff said... tomorrow's a new day...

Had to leave home at 4:15 a.m this morning to take hubby to the airport... (the airport is 90 min away). I came home and crashed! All day..

Anyway... hubby is safely at his destination... 4 more sleeps before my love returns to me! :-) I will have now through Sunday evening to myself at home - with the exception of babysitting my grandbaby a few times. I really need to get some work accomplished this week!

So - tomorrow must be structured - "on track!"

Having said all this...

Two days ago, my hubby took a walk to the far side of the house and brought back to me 2 beautiful, wonderfully smelling peonies. Now - I forget we even have the plants there - we were told that they're in the worst place for them to thrive... but what a wonderful surprise!

These peonies are not mine... though the two my hubby brought to me were beautiful, too.

However - today they don't look as nice... 2 days later..

but the scent is still intoxicating! I specifically placed them right beside me and I'm getting luscious whiffs every so often and pick one up just to smell it...

The lesson?

No matter what we look like, old or young, fit or unfit, at the beginning of our journey or at goal... we can still have a pleasant aroma - our words, our attitudes, our character. May our aroma draw others to us, and in turn, to God.

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:14

Beautiful illustration from God's creation. Thanks for sharing - and you are so blessed to have such a thoughtful hubby.

Earlier today I responded to this, then accidentally deleted it, and had to leave. Back and want to write what I was saying before. Actually a quote from the Bible.
2 Corinthians 2:14-17 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. 15 For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; 16 to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things? 17 For we are not like many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.

We are the aroma of Christ, for some it is a good fragrance, for others bad, because for them it leads to hell.

God placed so much inspiration in nature. Know you will miss your other half but enjoy your alone time.

When I think of aromas I think of food smells (of course) like fresh baking bread, waffles and a turkey roasting..flowers make me sneeze :)
