5 walks with the dog today

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

I got 5 walks in with the dog today. 3 walks this morning and 2 this afternoon. Didn't expect to have that many today but it wore her down.

I tried the crock pot trick with the beans and almost 6 hours later, no luck. I've turned off the crock pot and will be throwing them out in the morning. Unless somehow the plump up in the middle of the night while we are asleep.

My dad's oldest brother is doing fine. Thinks he'll be home by the weekend. He won't be. He has another 9 to 13 days left in the rehab place. The brother's daughter called us tonight and my dad told her what's going on with her dad.

My mom's oldest brother called me tonight from Omaha where he lives. Talk about someone who will talk your ear off. He hasn't been home in over 15 years (when I graduated high school in 1997). I've been out there twice since then. I went out there 14 years ago today and came back on the 20th (that year it was Father's Day) and just before Christmas 2002. He can't afford to come back.

No change in weight. Let's hope that I do get a change in my weight soon.

On the beans in the crock pot , did you soak them overnight? Were they too hard or soft.? What beans did you cook? some beans take longer than others. You might need to cook them longer than 6 hours, I usally do them for around 8 hours on low (or longer)

Good job with all that walking! It's too bad about those beans and the crockpot, I hope you find something that works for you.

Great work on walking the dog.

Sorry about the beans.
