...means taking care of the boss. And that's me.
My fibromyalgia has been really bad for two years now. Stress agrivates my symptoms, for sure, and I think I took the running thing a bit too far (for me). I did not need to do a half marathon. Who was I fooling? Well that was two years ago and I'm on the road back to feeling better, thanks to
- a naturopathic doctor -- vitamin B shots are delicious; they give me energy to make it through rough weeks (I also take B5 and D supplements daily)
- acupuncture -- I can't believe I was ever a skeptic; a treatment gives me up to two weeks of reduced pain
- chiropractic -- it had been three years since I'd been
- massage -- insurance pays, so why don't I take advantage more often?
I saw my chiropractor, Dr. Leslie, today. She runs. After a very gentle adjustment -- it hurts to be touched -- she sent me home with a prescription to "take two walks and see me next week". Part two of that prescription is that I'm not supposed to do house or yardwork anymore. Working out, done right, is easier on a body than housework. Now she tells me! I wish insurance would pay for a maid.
One day I WILL be back to lifting weights -- gawd, I miss that! -- swimming lanes and running (but only 10K or less).
Baby steps are progress.
