Day 159 (6/8) to 164 (6/13) of 2012... Happy Anniversary to my hubby!

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

Good morning. As usual, I'm behind, but to be fair, I've been having internet problems... and that is ALL we'll say about that, hee hee.

June 8th made it 16 years that Hubby and I have been married!

We are still happy to be with each other and always will! He's a wonderful man and I'm thinking he's happy he has me too, hee hee.

Friday was a weird evening for us. My oldest went to his dance and my youngest went to a friends house. After all the dropping off and etc for the cubs, we had just enough time to eat a meal and stop at one store before we had to pick them up. So nothing to romantic for our 16 year anniversary, but just dinner together alone was good. (Of course they sat us right near a family with three children. Two little girls who ran a round their table and if not doing that, they just stared at us. Their littler brother just screamed! YES, Mom and dad just sat there like NOTHING was going on around them). That kind of ruined the dinner. They were there for 1/2 of the time we were there. I love children, but I would NEVER have my children do what these parents ignored. Everyone in the room was annoyed. ANYWHO, I tried to focus on my wonderful husband, and all was good!

Then Saturday came and Hubby had a nice surprise for me. He gave me a ring! The back story.... A couple years ago my wedding ring lost a stone. It was in my wrap (part of the ring), so I have just been wearing my engagement ring. But for the 14 years of the wrap around the single stone, it was damaged and I had just been watching the prongs to make sure that sapphire stone was not lost!

During these two years hubby has been going at lunch time looking at rings (I did not know this). He found one, one time and brought me there to see it, but I was in no way paying that much for a ring! Yes I'm cheap and my marriage is not about how big my ring is, but our love. I saw that price and thought of all the stuff I could get for my two cubs, our household, anything other then spending that solely on me. Hubby disagreed.

So Saturday I was brought to the jeweler and I got this ring Hubby got me. I was over whelmed, happy, shocked, and did everything to not cry! He's so sweet and it feels great to have this ring on my finger. I did feel really bad he did it, but then I listened to him and this meant a lot to him, so A new ring I'm wearing! Sunday we got our Msgr. (Priest) to bless it and I feel like we just had our marriage blessed, hee hee. Crazy I know. FYI, I got hubby nothing! I originally said he could go get that new exhaust he wanted put on his truck and he said he would, but I don't see him jumping to do it. We'll see.

So that was my 16th Anniversary. I see many more happy years with this wonderful, amazing, loving, kind, sometimes pain in my bum, husband and I wouldn't want anything more! Love you my "Hunny Bunches Of OOO's"!!!

My original wedding ring (center / engagement ring- sapphire, the wrap was two little diamond and then another sapphire... on each side. It matched Hubby's ring which is Sapphire, diamond, sapphire, diamond, & sapphire in a row)...

My ring now (two diamonds and a ceylon sapphire).

Have a wonderful day! God bless! emoticon

I'm glad you accepted that ring.... It meant alot to Poppa Bear! It sounds just lovely! See, this is why I keep saying you and your hubby are great parents! You would never let your children run around like crazies in a public place, an eating establishment. Too many paretns just ignore their children and they grow up with no respect for themselves or others. It is just sad.

Ahhh I SO love to hear about marriages that are still perking along all these many years later. It's quite the accomplishment in today's world. The hubs and I just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. It was our 2nd marriage for both of us so I guess we had one practice run to get it right the second time around. emoticon I married the first time VERY young and he married right out of high school young also. It's amazing how the universe allows you to find just the right ONE isn't it?

Your hubby is amazing to insist that you are special enough to deserve this beautiful ring. He's a keeper for SURE! emoticon

Nothing makes me more disgusted than parent's that let their kids run wild in a restaurant...or any public place for that matter. Believe me...they aren't doing their kids any favors! I am the worlds BEST at giving out 'stink eye' in those situations...it's outrageous to spend the kind of money we do for entertainment then be held hostage over BAD parenting.

I'm glad you made the best of it and was able to focus on your wonderful hubs!

    Hugs!
