I am not much of a blogger but I just had one of those ah ha moments. While cruising through Spark this morning I ran across a few pages of fellow Sparkers that were asking about different types of diets (Atkins, South Beach etc.), I have even had a few people ask me what kind of diet that I am on… well funny thing is I am not on a diet, well I don’t consider it to be it is more of a lifestyle change. I realized that my previous attempts at weight loss (before Spark) were unsuccessful because I was trying to confirm or stick to a diet set-up by someone else that had no knowledge of me and what my body actually needed. After joining Spark I learned about nutrition and what my body really needed and thus I have created my own regimen I guess you can say. For me trying to stick to a standard DIET becomes old and boring and not something that I can stick with for long, I think that is why we sometimes are not successful in our journey; because we are trying to follow a DIET and not a lifestyle change and then when we get of course for 1 day or even 1 meal we feel like a failure and just give up. My advice to anyone who ask about different diets is to learn what your body needs, make gradually changes to how and what you eat, measure portions and make healthy choices (I feel that is easier to stick to) and don’t restrict yourself because if you do and you make one mistake (if you want to call it that) or get of course it may be hard for you to get past it and move forward. Well that is my Ah Ha Moment for the day…….GOOD DAY FELLOW SPARKERS and remember make today count as FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION.
