My eyes have been opened! Have come to the following realizations....
#1 Went thru my entire summer wardrobe... yes, only June but with humidex today is 35 degrees! capris fitting too tight.. I look obscene in them... trying on skirts and have come to realize that even if I were 15 lbs lighter that legs will never look like they did in my 20s or 30s.. approaching 50 and part of accepting that is accepting who I am right now and what fashion wise works and what should be put to bed forever :) No longer want to wear anything that is shorter than knee height.
#2 I was desperate for something to wear happy to find 3 new outfits from Reitmans.. 2 skirts and 1 skort set... no longer will I wear anything too tight... and do you know not only do I feel good/more comfortable but I look thinner too... imagine... just from wearing clothes that fit me... what I look like now!
#3 Tracking food; did not realize how nutrition poor my eating habits were until I started tracking. I really should be eating more fruits and veggies. I buy a watermelon, cherries and cantaloupe daily for my dad at nursing home. Why do I not eat these myself? Why not enjoy the fruits of the season? Snack on veggies & fruit.
#4 Move more. Sit all day at work and then I sit with dad at nursing home all night. Need to move more. Take a walk at lunch. Dust off the treadmill. Nothing too drastic... develop habits that I can stick with for the rest of my life.. in order to be healthy at 90 must start moving now! (I say this but I have been on the couch all morning drinking tea and typing this blog)
#5 Less is more. Less stuff = more living space; Less stuff = cleaner house; less clothes = seeing what u have & loving what u are wearing; less food / not binging on one food item = more choices / full course meal with dessert Less stuff = more time to do what you love best
#6 Yes, I still want to lose 10 lbs but not feeling as desperate now that I have something to wear. Pounds will not disappear unless I do my part; so I am vowing to make these changes and drink less alcohol and more water this coming week and hopefully I can get into last summer's outfits before this summer is over :)
Trying new WW recipe for dinner tonight... chicken mango and spinach salad. Doesn't that sound delicious. Hope everyone has a wonderful week and thanks again for listening.
