Working out seems like such a breeze to you...hopefully I get there at some point. Seems like your body may be coming around and liking the changes you are instituting and moving towards. Keep up all your hard work it will pay off. Thanks for talking about that app. I am totally not an app kind person cause I don't know how to use the higher functions on my phone let alone download things on my phone but I have tried the whole timing myself and that just never goes over well, but I have a recorder that I could totally make my own and mix of songs and time out the the intervals and put that thing on my iPod. It definitely sounds like you're on the right track! Way to go on your protein intake- that's awesome! As for having a protein shake as recovery drink, it isn't really recommended. After intense workouts (especially ones that are more cardio oriented) your body is low on glycogen and it needs carbs to refill the storage. So it's actually better to have more carbs after your workout. It's important to have protein too, but immediately after your workout it's better to have a drink/food that has a 4:1 carbs:protein ratio. And usually protein shakes are higher in protein than carbs. I usually have a recovery drink (Accelerade) which has that ratio, but even chocolate milk, cottage cheese and fruit or cereal would do the trick (just depends what you can stomach after a workout).
