Motivating Others

A bit of encouragement can go a long way I know...but only if the receiver is in receive mode. I have found this with my kids...you just can't make them want to earn good grades. It has to be something they want. And you can't tell someone who isn't truly dedicated to getting healthy to put on those running shoes and head to the gym or to pass on the brownie if that isn't what they truly want for themselves.

And I can't get my first Diva to launch her own Divas if she isn't truly interested in growing her business the way I am interested in growing mine. I am at a point where my next bonus will be paid if I can encourage her to work a bit harder. But I am seeing more mule (unmovable) than gazelle racing for the finish...or perhaps thoroughbred would be more apt? She has two Divas under her who are having makeover events this weekend and she is nowhere to be seen in helping them. They are not yet trained so it isnt fair to think they can handle on their own! She, again, is expecting me to come to the rescue. Last time it was Mother's day and now it is father's day...I am seeing a pattern. She has made her priorities clear. But I suppose the truth is that I am the one wanting the bonus more than she is...and I probably am not going to sway her to alter her plans at this point.

I may as well commit to being at those parties...I just hope they are good ones with plenty of preparation and enough guests to make it worthwhile.

I suppose I will just ha e to take a risk and hope that the products sell themselves...as they always do! But I still wish I could inspire her to get with it!
