I'm going to give the history of this so it makes more sense for those people who haven't been in the loop.
The Friday before Memorial Day I went in to see my primary doctor. I had brought with me test results that my old OB/GYN did in 2010. The old doctor basically told me everything was fine and the only thing that concerned her was my high cholesterol. She also said I needed to lose some weight and then hopefully my cycle would come back.
My new doctor here in FL looked them over and told me, 'Kristina your hormones are all out of wack. You have barely any estrogen and twice the amount of testerone." I asked her bottom line what she was telling me, "You more then likely have PCOS. I'm referring you to a reproductive endocrinologist."
Well after talking with my mom and finding out she had it I started to get a little more worried. I talked with friends who had it and were successful in having children. I spent that entire weekend researching PCOS and finding out in my research that I had almost every symptom!
I called my doctor's office that following Tuesday (after the Monday holiday) and got the name and nmber to a specialist. Long story short after 2 weeks of getting nowhere with this specialist I called my doctor back. I told them I wanted someone else because these clowns hadn't returned a phone call in almost 2 weeks!
My doctor's office called me back this morning and after a short phone call to the specialist assured me that my information was being faxed over. I waited an hour and called the specailist office and firmly told them that information was being faxed over from my doctor and that i needed to make an apt. I had been messing around with this for over 2 weeks and was getting very frustrated.
The lady transferred me to the lady who deals with first time patients. I explained everything and she got everything set up for next Monday. The awesome part is 1) its in Orlando (MUCH closer then the office in Lake Mary) and I'm seeing the ONLY female doctor in the practice AND she specializes in PCOS!
So hopefully come Monday of next week I'll have a diagnosis and a plan of action to treat this condition so that I'm able to start the journey to having another child.
