Journey derailed... OMG I'm pregnant....

Monday, June 11, 2012

So I've been MIA for a few days.... Well I got the shock of my life. I am pregnant!!!! This is so totally unexpected, but I am happy about this blessing. Although the weight-loss goal has come to a halt, my journey to healthy living does not. I am grateful for the few pounds I was able to get off before hand. I'll have to make some alterations to my workout plan, but exercise is still a MUST. I just can't kick butt in my TurboJam any more..... so sad, but it is all good!!!!

So, I'll use this time to continue to encourage all of my new friends and participate in their success while I try to make this the healthiest pregnancy possible. Being pregnant is NOT an excuse to eat like crazy and just eat whatever you want just because.

I'll admit I am little nervous about possible putting on 30 lbs with me only being 4"11. I'd be at 200 lbs and that concerns me. However I believe that if I just pace myself and still eat healthy, I will be okay. So, a new journey begins..... emoticon

Wow! Congratulations!!!! I definitely hear you about the healthy lifestyle - pregnancy is a GREAT time to work on healthy habits. You do what you can (keep the good food coming, keep moving as much as you can), and in a few short months you'll have another great reason to live strong and healthy.

Congrats!!! I think maintaining a good weight is totally possible. Due to morning sickness(really all day sickness) I didn't put on any weight the first 3.5months. Then I put on some weight once I could eat. I went a smidge overboard. But I am back in my right frame of mind and I am eating healthy and walking. I've gained 24lbs and I am nearly 8months.
Goodluck! Please keep us updated on you and baby! :)

It is perfectly okay at your height and weight to gain much less than that so hang in there and do your best and it will come out just fine and if you gain the weight you know how to get it off so you will be rocking in no time.

Congrats. I did water aerobics and loved it. No back trouble the whole pregnancy. Good luck.

Congratulations! That is is wonderful news! Now, just be reasonable about what you eat and keep doing some form of exercise (walking is always a safe option!) and you'll be fine. Remember, you are NOT "eating for two" - you are eating for one, just a little more healthily! emoticon

I had just gotten into a good weight loss routine when I became pregnant for the second time. I continued to eat healthily and exercise and I guess the amount of baby weight I was gaining offsetting the amount of "personal" weight I was losing for the most part (if that makes sense) and I only ended up gaining 14 pounds through the pregnancy. Congratulations!

Congratulations!! Don't let that "eating for two" fool you. You only need something around 500 extra calories per day to support Baby. Being overweight already, Baby can live off some of your fat stores and you might weigh less than you started. :) I gained 20, 17, and 15 pounds with each of my respective pregnancies and was back at what I weighed pre-pregnancy when I went back for my post-natal pregnancy. Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy.

Congratulations! You are eating for two, just make sure it is healthy eating :). Your doctor will help you with the guidelines for weight gaining while pregnant.

Good luck to you on your journey and your blessing!!

Just be healthy and as active as your doctor will allow. I found that with my son, I gained 32 lbs but I was so active during my pregnancy that after I had him, I lost all my weight fairly quick. However, with my daughter I was a bit more lazy and didn't make healthy choices - I not only gained more weight but I didn't really lose much of it :( See what your doctor gives you the go ahead for and do it... heck I was 8 months pregnant and played the best golf game of my life! You can do this and CONGRATS on the little miracle growing inside of you!
