I did everything right and I gained!!!!

Monday, June 11, 2012

I gained 2 lbs since my last weigh in last week. I don't know why

I tracked my calories, never went over last week, worked out 30 min cardio 5 days and strength training 3 days....and yet I gained emoticon

I weigh the same time as I did last week so I can't blame that. I know the scale is not the only factor to consider. But i never thought i would gain!!!!

I don't feel to work out right now. I feel to lie in bed and sleep...but I will do something...

Sigh

Don't get discouraged! Weight fluctuates based on soooo many different things. If you are tracking your food and staying in a good range for weight loss, the weight should eventually come off (barring rare medical situations). Also, are you keeping an eye on your sodium intake? I know if I go over a certain amount of sodium in one day, I can gain several pounds from water retention. Exercise can also cause water retention, especially if you don't drink enough water during or immediately after exercising. Personally, my weight is always slightly higher the day after strength training, even when I am well hydrated. For me, this means I never strength train the day before my official weekly weigh-in. But, the "nice" thing about water retention is that it is a lot easier to lose than fat. Hang in there, you can do it!

XENATHOMAS mentioned an article--I found it!

It's okay--sometimes our weight just fluctuates. Also, if you choose to not throw away the scale, I would recommend only doing weigh-ins on Fridays, since over the weekend we generally eat more salty foods (out to dinner, parties, what have you), and that causes water retention--AKA weight!

Don't stress. You're doing great. And remember: you're not just doing this to lose weight, you also want to feel better. Are you feeling better when you exercise, or after you exercise? Because if so, then you're already succeeding.

    Good luck!

I know you must be disappointed. You have worked very hard the last few weeks. I am proud of you for all you've accomplished. You are getting more fit than you were. You are way better than me at your exercise. This will pay off in time, I'm sure of it!

    Just don't give up!

Just keep up your efforts and if the scale doesn't show it, your body will be shaping up!!

You're doing all the right things, and it takes time for the body to adjust. It may be water weight also. That also takes time for the weight to stabilize. Drink all your water, your body might be holding onto water. Try increasing a couple cups more, see if that helps. Just stick with what you are doing, you are more fit than you were a week ago.

Darlene, someone once sent me an article about throwing away the scale. I know you can't throw away the scale now. But think of all the hard work that you put in!!!! You can be proud of yourself for the fact that you did the exercise, which means your getting fitter!!! For now feel bad if you want to, but don't be too hard on yourself. What would you tell me if I did everything right and i gained weight. Listen to this advice and take it or else I will stop taking your advice!!!! lol emoticon

Dar, you are doing so great! You're positive and inspirational. You're full of energy and spark. Look at the good things in your life now. Look at how you're changing your life for the better. You are an amazing woman! I know you won't let this beat you. You will get up, dust yourself off and try again!

Here's a song I use when I'm feeling down. It's called Try Again by Aaliyah:

This has been happening to me for two months. Lose a pound one week, gain two the next.

I don't really have anything to make you feel better. But don't stop. Keep on doing it, it has to come off sometime (I wish mine would start now!).
