Ireland

We have been in Ireland for almost 2 weeks now and it has been a fun, and very emotional, trip. We are visiting Domhnall's family, which has been a lot of fun. The babies have loved spending time with their grandparents. Domhnall is doing his thesis defense next week so there is certainly a lot of stress going around!

We spent a few days in Galway last week and visited friends. It has been a year since we left, but it feels like we never did. We both said we are ready to go back. And I'm not convinced we will last in America long. Cillian wants to move back and so do we. But we will give it more time. It was a lot of fun to see friends and family and go to all the old places. Domhnall and I will be hitting the pubs on Wednesday night to celebrate the end of his PhD! I am so excited. I am more sick of his PhD then he is!

Diet/exercise. I thought it would go better. I always struggle while travelling, but after losing 21 pounds so far this year I was determined to be good. I haven't been all that good though! I think I have gained 1 or 2 pounds, and I haven't been the best eater. BUT I have been a good runner. I've changed my 2 mile runs to 3 mile runs and have done a few of those. I went to a Zumba class with my mother-in-law. I also did a 4 mile run yesterday and have done quite a few walks with the babies. So although the eating is not quite there, the exercise is. A little more than a week until we go back. Ciara is totally ready. The rest of us...not so much. But I am ready to get back to my normal eating/exercising routine!

Wow...PhD! I can see how that would be extremely stressful for both of you. Congratulations on the accomplishment!

I hope that you will enjoy the rest of your time in Ireland and that it won't be too hard for you to come back to the States. It must be hard to have ties in two places.

You have done a great job with your weight loss this year. Please don't let the few extra pounds get you down!

I love Ireland, not sure now much I could stay on my diet there. Congrats to the new PhD!
