There's a website, www.flylady.net
. There's a mission every day to tackle the cleaning of some aspect of your house. You can get reminders on Facebook or in email, and you get an overview early in the week of the week to come. I've used it off and on for a few years, and it's nice to know that you don't have to do everything all at once. Every little bit "blesses your home" she says. It doesn't have to be perfect...just has to happen. There's no right way to mop a floor, for example. (Not if you ask anyone's mother--her way is the right way!)
I bring this up because I have begun de-cluttering. I have time right now because it's summer and I don't *have* to go to school. I can get some studying in, clean a few things, study a little more, take trash down (downside to condo living--I have to trek up and down three flights of stairs every time I take the trash out--upside, FREE STAIRMASTER!)
My mom met a guy who has a "haul it away" type of service, and he sometimes resells stuff, or just takes it to be recycled or to the dump if it's not recyclable. I called him to pick up the bed in the spare room and a few other things because I couldn't get it out of the house on my own, and no one else will pick it up (Goodwill, etc.). He came and got it, and we were talking about a few other things I'd like to be rid of like the 80s era island--he'll be by next week to demolish it for me! I can finally put my dining table (and possibly my hutch!) in the kitchen where it belongs, which will give me a bigger living room!
I've been back to watching what I eat and have been mindful of when I'm eating and what I'm eating. I'm asking myself "Am I hungry or just bored?" every time I feel like I want to snack. Turns out I'm either bored or stressed out about something... I lost my "monthly weight" again--I've been gaining and losing the same four pounds and am back to 189 today, and I'd like to see it continue to go down..that would be ideal.
In addition to all this decluttering, I put a downpayment on a used treadmill today. Part of my issue with working out at the gym is that I have to GO there. I don't WANT to go there. If I'm up at 4am, I want to work out now, but I can't go running in the dark (just not safe...creeps me out, ya know?) and the gym isn't open. It's not a perfect solution by any means, but it's a start. And now when I get home late, I can still walk or run for a while... When I get my bonus at the end of the month (also good news!) I can pay it off. Hopefully I can declutter myself too...
