Yesterday I went to the local produce farm and picked strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. It is unusual for all these berries to be ripe at the same time, but all the crops are out of whack this year. They are at least a month early.
This was the first morning to pick blueberries. The berries were big and the bushes were loaded!
Picking strawberries was not in the plan, because my back and legs were so sore last year after picking. The strawberries yesterday looked really good, plus tomorrow is Dad's birthday and he loves strawberry pie. So, I gave in to temptation and tried to be sensible. It was a good decision.
At the very end, it was time to try for a few raspberries. The crop doesn't look to be very good this year and it was the very beginning of the season, so the picking was slim. We ate all the raspberries last night, so there isn't a picture, but they were delicious!
My back is sore today, but not bad. It was such a pleasant time with beautiful weather and everyone having such fun. I will probably go back for more blueberries in the next two weeks. What a great way to move around and end up with delicious fruit! Yum!
