The chair is finally here

Sunday, June 10, 2012

Well, I never got the phone call giving me my delivery window. I called the store in a huff at about 4PM and was told that my delivery window was between four and eight! I sat all day doing nothing and going nowhere waiting. And of course, they showed up at 7:40, while I was in the middle of dinner. But at least I got the bare floors swept and the living room and hall vacuumed, which was badly needed.

But the chair is gorgeous, and SO comfortable! The old loveseat is so low it literally took me four tries to get up from. This chair is at least four inches higher, so I only need one. I haven't figured out how to make it recline yet, but even just slumped back into it, it's SO relaxing. However, I will keep trying until I get it to recline (I know it does. The delivery man tried it out and it reclined for him.).

However, the president of Ashley Furniture is still getting a letter. I don't recommend patronizing them, and I don't intend to ever again. Great furniture, but their service REEKS.

I'm glad your chair finally arrived and it is comfortable. Service seems to be a problem everywhere these days! Enjoy!

Don't fall into a coma in that chair! emoticon

The Ashley's in Anchorage that I used was wonderful, so I'm thinking that each one is different. I work in retail, and I've learned that it's all about the management. When the managers actually do what they preach, walking the walk and talking the talk, so do their employees. When they say one thing and then act differently, their behavior is going to be copied by their employees.

Glad it is finally there, and you are enjoying it after all you went through to get it. I will be avoiding Ashley Furniture based upon your stories.

emoticon so glad you can enjoy your new chair! Isn't there a button or handle on the side of the chair to recline, or is it electric?

Hugs Elaine emoticon

That delivery time stuff is just a huge joke. It seems like it's always at the end of the time frame before they come - except for the one time that you leave your house assuming it won't come early - then of course, it comes early!

Anyway - just enjoy your new chair - the comfort of it is what's important!!

The chair sounds really devine :-) I know the difference it made when I got a chair raiser - soooo much easier to get out of the chair, therefore less pain. I am sure that you will enjoy it for many years to come :-)

I'm glad the chair came, but boy so much trouble from them. I understand why you won't shop there anymore.
