All in all a pretty good week aside from the cold that still hasn't quite passed. First off, I have gotten at full night's sleep every night this week, no exceptions.
I have counted calories every day so far this month and tracked everything. I've stayed in the ballpark range about 50% of the time, and on bad days I usually eat around 1700-1800 calories instead of 2000 plus.
I have lost 2.2 pounds this week and maintained that loss three days straight.
I have enjoyed the hot tub almost every night this week, and it is a real pleasure.
I finished reading Venus in Furs, adding a second entry to my summer reading program. And I've almost finished War and Peace, making a very hefty third entry. Highly recommend both! Which do you think my next choice should be: Frankenstein for a second time, Swiss Family Robinson, King Arthur Legends, Black Beauty, Treasure Island, The Secret Garden, or Peter Pan? I wanted something less weighty after War and Peace. I like the sound of all of them which makes choosing rather hard ;)
To make up for the fact that I haven't seen a beach in 12 years and won't get a proper vacation at all this year - or even a swim in a pool, I painted my toes a Caribbean blue ("turquoise and caicos" by Essie) and my fingers a seafoam green ("absolutely shore" also by Essie). My mom rolled her eyes but I must say mentally it's kind of working!
And the absolute best part of the week was the surprising revelation today. Ladies do you have a teeny bit of inner knee flab or is it just me? Not quite a roll but a little bit of jiggle that squats and lunges can't quite reach. Well I did [emphasis on DID] for the longest time. I had given up on ever losing this pudge since I also had it when I was thinner. When I was 15 and 25 pounds lighter, Mom told me that I should wear longer skirts and dresses to hide this inner knee pudge. Call it genetics, bad luck, or unreachable flub. Whatever. So imagine my delight when I noticed that after only two weeks of the ballet DVD mentioned in the last blog that roll is gone even when the underlying muscle is relaxed. Gone enough that I can't even get a good pinch. Unsightly knee fat gone: mission complete!
Wishing all of you a fantastic weekend!
