"Showdown" - with a hotel buffet breakfast!

Saturday, June 09, 2012

Hotels and food are not often a fun combo for me. But, with help from SparkPeople, choosing and eating in hotel situations is getting a bit less stressful!

This a.m. I picked fresh fruit, for two of us, then went back a short while later, toasted several slices of whole wheat bread, and got some peanut butter for us to spread, along with a bit more fruit. Then I invested in a couple bottles of water and two containers of yogurt.

Not too shabby for breakfast!!

You made some great choices. It just goes to show that you can go to the buffet and walk away with healthy choices.

Enjoy your vacation.

I like that some Marriott properties are offering healthier fare (in addition to being totally smoke-free). The last few Fairfields I stayed at had hard-boiled eggs (which I eat nearly every morning), and two of them had Jimmy Dean D-Lights breakfast sandwiches. Our favorite Residence Inn has a breakfast sandwich with egg whites and turkey bacon on an English muffin. And the Bistro at our favorite Courtyard will poach eggs for me at the omelet station.
