Miserable day turned good

Saturday, June 09, 2012

I was out late last night (10:30pm), and as a result ended up sleeping in this morning. I am usually in be sleeping by around 9pm. I try to get up at 5am to do my hour worth of stretches. I find if I don't get up and do them at that time I am just not motivated to do them. I got up around 6:30 and watched a few shows on demand and decided to do my stretches. Am I ever glad I did, I felt so much better after doing them. It was pouring rain all morning, and I was scheduled to go for a 3k walk. After loungin around on the couch some more, my walking buddy decided not to go today because he was getting ready for his date, I decided to blow the dust off of my treadmill. I turned the TV on in the basement to the show I was watching and I walked the fastest I ever have, 3.46km (2.15 miles) in 26.25 minutes. That is an 8 minute km. When I did my race a few weeks ago, it was around a 9 minute km. I wish I could walk that fast all the time - I know it will come. I always seem to be able to go faster on the treadmill. I even did around another 20 minutes of stretcing afterward. I feel fantastic! emoticon
Now, we are getting ready to out for dinner to celebrate my son's 11th birthday. I had my husband check the internet for restaurants that have GF options, and the nutritional values posted so I can decide what to eat before we get there. I know I will be over on some of my values again today, but I won't feel bad as long as I make healthy dinner choices.
I still can't believe that I have been tracking my food, exercise and posting for a week now.
