I begin the journey... Not really.

Actually, I started at 302 LBS quite some time ago (yester-year)... I am now at a portly but moving in the good direction 265ish today.

This weekend is study-time for test #2 in Research. It is mostly the stats portion of the course and doing sparks people is good for a mental break.

I want to remind myself when the journey feels slow, dull, etc.. that I can return to this moment and blog and/or do other activities to change my cognition/behaviour. I do not need others b/c I can do it. i am doing it...

What I find to be discouraging --at moments -- is realizing just how far I must go to achieve goals. I want to make sure to not cut too many calories lest, I loose the energy needed for school and, worse, increase the ability to rebound weight gain.

I am "lurking", as you said, on your sight today, discovering that you are a very interesting person. After achieving so many other goals in your life, you will easily be able to reach one to improve your health. This Spark program provides the support to keep us motivated. Like you, I have never blogged or joined any of those social networks. I don't even own a cell phone, but did finally join the computer world after I retired. Now, through my computer, my health is slowly improving as I track my daily food intake and feeble attempts to exercise. I wish you much success in your journey towards improved health.

I think you should look at where you have been & go from there. You have done an amazing job of losing & keeping that weight off. Unlike myself I lose 20lbs only to gain 10lbs back. It is a give take take & give type of mentality. I mean I don't gain it back immediately but I gain it back all the same. I am trying to keep it off for life. I encourage you not to look at the glass half empty but half full.

God bless,
