so, can i retract that whine from earlier this week? it appears it must have been an awful lot of salt and water retention, because with just a few days of healthy eating and exercise again, not only did i get rid of those pounds - i hit my lowest weight so far and am oh so close to my next goal (hello, ipad!).
so meanwhile, i decided to shake things up a bit. first, i decided to join the summer 5% challenge. at the time that i did it, i felt that 5% weight loss (5 or 6 lbs) would bring me to a weight that i have not seen for decades, and that would be a good base weight from which to start my 5 lb fluctuation when i am no longer in weight loss mode. or should i say, when i am in maintenance mode. but, the challenge has not started yet (and i am not sure when it will, there seems to be lots of preparations), and i am already on my way. still, it sounds like fun.
and then... there is the half marathon. yes indeed, i signed up for the "run like a girl" HM in bellingham in october. so now i am in training. i'm basebuilding right now, run/walking at low heart rate, and will get serious next month after recovering from jet lag in sweden.
and... i am going to sign up for "tjejmilen" - a 10k for women in stockholm on sept 1 that i ran last year. it is pretty amazing to run with about 30,000 other women - and will be quite a contrast for the HM, with 300 women!
so i am on track - good food, good exercise and a plan.
