Why Are The 150's So Hard?

Friday, June 08, 2012

When I started my weight loss journey about 3 years ago I lost around 30lbs in months. I got to be about 153ish and then stopped tracking for a while and my weight went back up to around 160ish (give or take a few lbs week to week). For the last year and half I have struggled to get under 150. I found it such a great achievement to finally get into the 150's last month. It seemed like my weight just didn't want to come off and the 160's were here to stay. Now that I am in the 150's I was at a stand still for 2 weeks before my weight moved. I feel like I have a good handle on my food, calories, and exercise. I am just wondering if they still need to be tweaked in order to accomlish my final goal of 135 lbs. At times I think that this might be too low of a goal, especially when it is so hard for me to lose 10 lbs. This is either because Im not doing it right or because I don't have that much weight to lose. Whatever the case is, I will continue to do what I am doing and just be OK with the fact that it is going to be a slow process. Slow and steady wins the race.........right?!?

Keep being consistent and you will get there - just not as fast as you want to get there. I had a really hard time getting out of the 150s. For me, it was not tracking my food. Every piece that goes in my mouth. My exercise is consistent and I achieve my goal of 1000 minutes per month. Now I am struggling to get out of the 140s and for all the same reasons that I mentioned.
