I walked 13.1 miles today. Not all at once, but over several walks. A big chunk of miles I did while Cooper was at the groomer's. It took me just over an hour and a half to walk 6.5 miles. I also did a moderate paced 5k with a friend this evening, finishing in 48 minutes. The rest of the miles were slower as I was walking the dog, and the Puppy Rebellion is ongoing once again. He just lays down in the grass if I make him go a direction he doesn't want to go. Usually this is after he has done his business, so I just pick him up and carry him home. It is definitely a good thing he only weighs 11 pounds!
I made dinner for my neighbor tonight, and it turned out okay. I did a chicken stir fry with brown rice. The grocery store was out of zucchini though, and it would have been better with the zucchini. The calories and fat levels were much more reasonable than yesterday's frozen pizza! It feels good to cook for more than just myself on occasion. Of course, I cook lunch with my mom once a week for three or four people, but that is usually just once a week... so cooking for my neighbor is fun.
Tomorrow is a scheduled gym day, and I am looking forward to going and getting sweaty. Next week I have an appointment with the PT to add more lower body ST into my routine. My legs are pretty strong, especially compared to my arms, but I think it is time to do more weight work for those legs of mine. I only have about 35 pounds left to lose to get to a healthy bmi, but I also want to increase my strength and stamina while I am taking off those pounds. It is working so far, so I am going to continue doing what I am doing.
