A New Pre-Running Must For Me...Coffee

And I'm so happy about it!!!!! It was my second time I gave coffee a chance before my run and it really helped me!!!! I have to say I am SOOOO happy!!!! I used to wait until after my run for my morning coffee because of my sensitive stomach. Plus I wasn't sure if the caffeine would give me heart palpitations. But none of that. Just a great run with more pep to my step!!!

So I had a great run with my friends this morning. It's the last time we will get one in before the kids are out of school. Tomorrow they have a half day and then they are done for the summer!!! It's time and we are ready!!!

I went in for DD's end of year party. It was a lot of fun. Now that she is getting older I don't get a chance to help out in the classroom as I used to. She is finishing up third grade. For some reason up to second you have a lot more opportunities. I miss it, I used to go in ever week. It is fun to get to know the kids and see DD interact in class.

The day ended with an orthodontist appointment. So it was a pretty full day!!!

    I can't do coffee before my run. Unless it is hours and hours before the run. It upsets my stomach too much.

Have fun with the kiddos this summer! I know my kids are very glad that it is summer break. Although.... this past school year went by WAY too fast. Now I have a third grader and not one but TWO middle school students. (6th and 7th grader) God help me! LOL

    I'm glad to hear that the caffeine worked for you! It sounds like you had an awesome day. I can't drink coffee, get the shakes too much but I've found if I take a bit of pop with caffeine in it, it does help me a bit in the morning also, just a bit then adrenaline kicks in LOL!!

    HOORAY! You've found your magic juju! I've heard of the coffee/caffiene connection before. on my long runs I have the sports bean with caffiene. I think it's really smart you're having your java a while before hand... so happy your tummy isn't fighting back!!!

  I'm new to working out. Can't run because I have a knee replacement, but I can walk. Do I understand you to tell us that having some coffee beforehand helps you run and work out better? Great!
