My grandson will be 18 mths old June 12th - last week he started soccer. I think this is great - gets kids active and interested in sports from an early age. He doesn't actually play the game per se but he is running and kicking the ball - learning to interact with other children in this type of situation.
So many kids now just seem to sit in the house and play video games and that concerns me.
We have more overweight children now than ever before and it has been proven that in many cases that when these children grow up their children ill also be overweight.
The cycle has to stop - why not stop it now. Get involved in something - start to exercise. Be an example to those that are younger than you - your kids etc. Even if those kids are adults - they still look up to their parents and if they see you doing what you need to get healthy they may also start to do so - which then inspires their children(your grandchildren) and so on.
So remember next time you are out for your walk - someone may take notice - think if they can then so can I. You just might start them on the road to health without even knowing about it.
P.S. - tried to post picture of grandson in his soccer uniform but couldn't figure it out.
