I guess this title could refer to two things... both this week between jobs and the week I took off from working out last week.
Last week was rough. I didn't work out for seven days. That's the longest I've gone without working out since August. I got back in the game on Saturday and let's just say it was rough for awhile. I definitely lost some strength and endurance. I worked out Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and Wednesday was the first day I felt pretty good during my workout. I did this workout from Loving Fit:
This is an upper body workout and I did it in the morning and felt strong- that's a great sign right there. For some reason I have a terrible time with upper body workouts in the mornings. I just feel weaker usually, in the morning, and ESPECIALLY in my upper body. I love to do cardio in the morning, I can get in a lower body workout most of the time, but upper body in the morning is just something that doesn't work for me.
My BFF wanted to do ZWOW #20 yesterday so to support her endeavors I did it also. I did it after my Loving Fit workout because that's what I had planned and that's what I wanted the results from. The ZWOW was:
3 rounds for time
20 side jump lunges
10 backward-forward burpees
10 dip jumps, each leg
10 bridges, each leg
My time was 17:11. However, my arms were so dead, I had to eliminate the pushup from the burpees after the first round. My form was terrible. And I hate doing pushups from my knees in burpees- the mat slides around when I jump up and I trip over it. Not interested in injuring myself.
My shoulders are KILLING me today. It feels GREAT! I forgot to mention, when I went home, both my friends complimented my arms. Separately and unsolicited :) The first friend said I was looking "ripped" and the second one said something about there's a huge "dip" between my shoulder and my arm :) I told them, "You should see my butt!" :)
My week off is going okay. I haven't been sleeping well. I've been sleeping with the kitties (Matt's out of town and he doesn't allow kitties in the bed). Last night around 2 AM Digit decided to knead my face. My FACE. LOL. It makes me wonder how I ever got any rest with these animals in my bed :)
Anyway yesterday I was very tired and didn't do much. I did go through all the boxes I brought with me from Erie and got rid of most of it. If I didn't need it in 2 years=I do not need it!
This week has been productive. I'm pleased with the way it has gone.
This morning if it doesn't rain, I'd like to get in some cardio to loosen up my sore muscles from yesterday.
Only 4 days until I start my new job. I wish I could just stop time. I don't want to go :(
