Fell Off the Blog-Wagon

Well since the last time I posted, my exercise has been pretty on-par. My eating however, has not been. The hardest part about summer is eating well believe it or not... My job requires me to be on my feet all day and we don't have a fridge or even an air conditioned place to keep things semi-cold during the day so I'm very limited on what I can take to work. I also have to respond to pretty much everything that goes on with my lifeguards, and some days, that means I don't sit down for hours at a time.

However, I'm definitely starting to listen to my body more and I'm really learning what works and what doesn't in terms of fitness and nutrition. I used to stress out MAJORLY if I missed a workout or if I didn't feel that I got the same level of intensity in that I was looking for. Just a few days ago, I took 2 days off between runs, but then I knocked out a 7-mile interval run with no issue whatsoever.

So I guess in the end, this is what this is all about and I'm finally realizing it... even though I've KNOWN it all along, it's different when you realize and own it for yourself rather than just giving it the lip-service.

Quote of the Day:
All it takes is 20 seconds of insane courage and great things will happen. I promise.

I hear you! But you are doing great in your workouts. Recognizing that you can do better in your nutrition is a start.

I definitely feel ya on the difficulties of eating well over the summer! Glad you have decided to be less strict with workouts and listen to your body- you would probably miss more future workouts if you push yourself too far initially. And I'd definitely like to be able to do a 7 mile run!
