My mind does not want me to lose weight!

Thursday, June 07, 2012

I lost 45lbs since last May. Ouch to say this, I have gained 12 back since February. I do think about when I hadn't lost any yet and I never in a million years thought I'd see 45lbs but I did it. I did the work and I made it happen and I feel so good for doing that work but I'm weakening and back tracking. I want to lose more but something inside me is saying. "Oh! Can't do that. People will expect more from you, like you're capable of more than mediocre." I have got to change my eating! I exercise 4-5x a week for weeks at a time and then take a week off. I have to be the change. I know.

Try not to be discouraged! Your allowed to make mistakes. Best to start with where you are right now and if your next step seems overwhelming make it smaller. You can only eat an elephant 1 bite at a time. Instead of thinking you've got and extra 12 pounds to lose just think about your goal for the week, think about the workout activities you are going to do. Play, have some fun- go kite flying or toss around a frisbee. Getting fit and losing weight doesn't need to be discouraging- GO HAVE SOME FUN to find your motivation again!

Ah gosh. I've been in a similar struggle late, only I've gained by nearly 18! Ugh. I've found my determination to fight again, and am taking steps each day to get better and feel better. I hope you can as well. Don't give up! You are totally worth the effort!
